Wasmizer: Curating WebAssembly-driven Projects on GitHub
In a paper titled “Wasmizer: Curating WebAssembly-driven Projects on GitHub”, the Secure Software Engineering group members together with researchers from New Zealand and Canada present a tool that mines relevant open-source projects and generates WebAssembly binaries automatically. This novel dataset is the first evolving dataset of its kind that provides researchers with an up-to-date dataset of WebAssembly binaries and their associated source projects. This work will be presented in MSR 2023, the premier conference in Mining Software Repositories, to be held in May 15-16 in Melbourne, Australia.
Insecure by Design in the Backbone of Critical Infrastructure
In a paper titled “Insecure by Design in the Backbone of Critical Infrastructure”, security researchers at Forescout and Prof. Mohammad Ghafari, reported 53 confirmed vulnerabilities in Operational Technology (OT) products. They show that “despite a decade of efforts in improving OT security, the OT install base is still suffering from insecure-by-design issues even for products that are security certified”. This work will be presented during CPS-IoT week on May 9 in Texas, USA.
