The interdisciplinary research activities of the ISSE include current topics such as Advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) as well as future challenges such as the development of intelligent energy management systems in vehicles and the charging infrastructure associated with electromobility. In order to gain a comprehensive, in-depth understanding of the system, especially of the energetic behaviour of the vehicles, and to generate measurement data for the development of new technological approaches for improved vehicle functionalities, various test vehicles are available to the institute. The test fleet currently comprises an E-Golf (85 kW/24.2 kWh), an E-Golf (100 kW/35.8 kWh) and an Audi A7 Sportback equipped with five cameras, radar sensors, ultrasonic sensors and a laser scanner.
